I made a 17 minute trailer for a 5 minute video art work. It shows very little of the piece itself.
The trailer takes on something else, the idea that most of our daily lives are
a remix of the same attributes we project and experience as life previously in space and time.
No two things are ever the same in repetition. Every particle around them has changed. Our perception of it. Repetition could be a heart beat. There is no life without it. Repetition can also be horrifying. Uncomfortable. Unwanted.
In ourselves and our projection of it on others. Repetition can blind us from reality.
If required.
Repetition can be hypnotising.

Addictive and Beautiful.
Bastard* was first shown as a projection above the altar of a crumbling, torn and dilapidated church
in San Spritio, Florence, August 2009.
It was shown in Edinburgh one year later, as 1 of 4 video projections used at my first solo exhibition of Video Art.
Also titled , Bastard - A self portrait by Alex Paton.
At Edinburgh's Art's Complex, February 2010.
